Alcohol and Drug Awareness for Teens: ADAPT

The Alcohol and Drug Awareness Program for Teens (ADAPT) is designed to give adolescents (age 13-17 years) factual information on the effects, the outcomes, and consequences of using and abusing alcohol and/ or other drugs. The eight week 1.5 hour educational/group sessions provide an opportunity for adolescents to differentiate factual information from their learned beliefs related to substance use and effects. The program design allows for a parent/caregiver orientation to the Alcohol and Drug Awareness Program for Teens in addition to information and resources for the families. Adolescents also receive two individual counseling sessions and are randomly drug tested during the program.
